Trivandrum Visit on 2007

I was on a business travel to Trivandrum
Trivandrum - is the capital of God's own country. It has its own traditional buildings with Legislative Assembly. People are calm always the city is silent after 7pm, too silent on the weekends.
Temples
First and foremost things to do in trivandrum was to visit the temples inside the city/town. One of my relative took me over to the temples, here the temples are opened around 3:30am (midnight for most of the IT professional) the first darshan of the deity is vary precious one, so people queue up at the early morning daily. we went to shiva temple Shrikanteeswaram, then came to famous Padmanabasamy Temple it was a good experience going to the temples in early morning. If anyone plans to visit temples in trivandrum kindly visit in the early morning. These temples are closed in the evening 7pm. Here the temples follow some kind of discipline in the dress code, men shouldn't wear shirts or t-shirts or any towels also they should wear only dhoties or pants provided near by the temple. Women shouldn't wear any modern dresses, for them also they provide dhoties to cover the dresses. At the modern world, these ancient custom is still followed in the temples of kerala. Anyone wants to visit kerala temples ensure the dress code of the temple before enter in. They still use the traditional musical instrument named Chendamelam in all the temples the music is quite different from other instruments.
Tourist place
After visiting the temples we browsed for Tourist place around trivandrum. First in my list was world famous Kovalam beach, The word kovalam means grove of coconut trees. We friends reached  kovalam around 5:30pm. We went to the main beach which was black colored sand people used to bath with that, but for us we felt odd, then we went to the next view point Light House Beach. It was too good to enjoy the evening, shops & restaurant on the beach display the fish & their fry which catches most of the eyes into the restaurant. People who love beaches can enjoy at least half day to one day here itself the view point is too good. We enjoyed every moment there and finally it is time up for complete dark, so we returned to trivandrum city.
We also went to Velli beach from which we can view the central government buildings, just 4 kms walk from the Velli beach. There was a floating hotel in the velli beach which was too costly but even though we enjoyed having good food there.
We went to Shanmugam beach which is a nice place to hang out in trivandrum. Since it is easily accessible most of the city people used to spend some time in the beach. Sunset view is good in this beach.
In City
Veg restaurant are more in the city compared to the non-veg. Non-veg restaurant are less and crowded with people in the weekends we used to wait for an hour to get a seat over there. City is quite silent most of the time. Autos are bit cheap compared to other cities in South India.
Travel Tips
